Release Notes: RFlash-3.0 Utility

KPIT Cummins Infosystems Ltd. is pleased to announce the release of 'RFlash-3.0', the flashing tool on GNU/Linux for Renesas FZTAT devices. It is a console based application on GNU/Linux platform that facilitates the user to FLASH (program) Renesas FLASH (FZTAT) devices from a PC.

Additions in this version:

1.

RFlash-3.0 is code compatible with gcc-3.x and gcc-4.0.

2.

Support for Protocol C in Boot program mode is added.

3.

Support for Protocol B is added. Both, boot program mode and user program mode are supported. At present this is tested with SH7055 EVB.

4.

HMSE Kernel Communications Protocol (Protocol "A") using serial communications directly to the target board, or via HMSE Universal Programming Board (UPB).

5.

EVB Database has been updated for few CPUs.

How to Install:

1.

Open rflash.rpm from rpm manager

2.

Alternatively use following command to install rflash application
    # rpm -ivh RFlash-3.0-1.i386.rpm

 

Installation will copy the files in the appropriate directories.

How to Un-Install:

1.

Use rpm manager to un-install the package.

2.

Alternatively you can use following command to un-install the package.
    # rpm -e RFlash-3.0-1.i386

NOTE:

This rpm has been built on Red Hat Fedora Core 1 (gcc version 3.3.2 20031022).
This rpm can be installed and used on Fedora Core 2 (gcc version 3.3.3. 20040412),
Fedora Core 3(gcc version 3.4.4-2) and Fedora Core 4(gcc version 4.0) also.
